Transform Your Inner World: Episode 12: Laws of the Kingdom of God
Transform Your Inner World:
Episode 12: Laws of the Kingdom of God
The Kingdom of God runs under its own set of principles, just as nations are ruled by laws. These principles direct us to live in accordance with God's will, promoting both personal well-being and the greater good. While some of these rules are obvious, others are deliberately hidden in His Word, waiting to be discovered. Join us as we embark on a trip to uncover some of the Bible's most buried treasures. Let's look at how embracing these concepts can improve our relationship with God and bring about positive change.
Let us now move to the very first book of the Bible, Genesis.
Genesis 1
1. God is the Creator: -
He wants to be acknowledged as the Creator of all things.
We live in a universe and on a planet that He owns.
We are living here with His permission.
We don’t really own anything here. Everything belongs to God.
We are merely stewards of what we have. All things belong to God.
2. Principle of Gratitude: -
God has the discretion to tell us what we are to do with what He has given us.
3. Principle of Right Use: -
Everything God created has a purpose. We must use what we have according to its design. You don’t try to domesticate wild animals. They belong in the wild. There are animals for farm use. You use them for farming. You can keep and care for domesticated animals. They won’t survive living in the wild.
Like things and love people. Not love things and like people.
4. Words have power: - Prov 18:21
5. Light is good: - We need both physical and spiritual light.
People who don’t get enough exposure to sunlight can have sickness and depression.
We need God to show us things that are not right in us. His Word is a lamp to our feet and light to our path.
6. Principle of Separation: -
Light from darkness
Water above from water below
Land and Seas
Day and night
Sun, Moon and stars
Trees and vegetation according to their own kind.
Animals according to their own kind
7. Principle of Clarity: -
Naming and defining. Everything has a name and is clearly defined.
8. Principle of the Sacredness of Human Life: -
Man is made in the image of his creator
Human lives are most valuable. They have an eternal spirit.
Caring less for humans and more for animals and nature is inconsistent with the order of creation.
9. Principle of Rest (Sabbath): -
Time is holy to God. Six days to work, six days to create. One day to rest and enjoy the fruit of our labour.
Get renewed and get rejuvenated.
Genesis 2 :
10. Principle of Work: -
Work is good. Constructive work gives purpose and meaning to human life.
11. God assigned Genders: -
Man and woman - 2 genders.
12. Law of Marriage: -
Marriage is instituted by God. It is a covenantal relationship between a man and his wife.
The man must separate himself from his parents and join to his wife. They become one flesh.
Sex is blessed by God only within the confine of marriage. Outside marriage, sex is destructive.
The idea of casual sex and abortion are against God’s design.
13. Mandate for mankind: - to be fruitful and multiply and have dominion over the created world, not over each other.
14. We have choices: - We have free will.
Give people choices.
Give people freedom to choose. Freedom to obey. Freedom to love.
15. Principle of Boundaries: -
Freedom with boundaries. Lots of good choices but there is one bad choice.
Every action has a consequence. Name the consequence.
No general or vague threat. Clear consequences communicated beforehand.
Genesis 3:
14. We have an enemy:-
His main weapon is deception. His power lies in deception.
He puts doubts in our minds about God’s character and intentions for us.
“Perhaps God is withholding something good from you.”
“Whatever God said not to do, just do it. It is the best thing for you.” He likes to challenge God’s authority by saying the opposite of what God says.
We are safe as long as we obey God.
We don’t need to know everything.
Trust and obey.
Disobedience brings fear, guilt and shame.
15. Look for redemption even in a very bad situation. The seed of the woman will crush the head of the serpent.
Have a contingency plan. Don’t let the enemy throw a curve ball at you when you are not prepared.
Genesis 6:
16. Principle of Starting Over: -
Looking for the good in the midst of the bad situation.
17. Judgment may be delayed, but it will come
Genesis 7:
18. Principle of Stewardship: -
We are custodians of God's creation.
19. Principle of Separation: -
Clean and Unclean
Genesis 12:
20. Start small: -
Start with one person, one family.
Every big idea needs a starting point.
Do not despise the day of small beginning.
21. He is a God of covenant: -
God is not into casual relationship.
Dating for the sake of dating is not God’s idea. Living together is anti God.
If we only have casual friends we will never be satisfied.
We need deep committed relationships.
Fear of relationship brings shallowness.
Deep committed relationship even though you may experience conflict from time to time, it will bring nourishment to your soul and fulfillment to your life.
Genesis 11:
22. Unity without God is a wholesale rebellion against God.
Genesis 13:
23. Walk by Faith and Not by Sight: -
Living without faith in God will lead you in the direction that is most appealing to your senses.
Genesis 14:
24. Principle of Tithing
Genesis 19:
25. Don’t live too close to evil: -
If you do you will end up living among them. Then you will lose everything you have worked for.
You absorb the environment you live in. Lot got drunk and slept with his 2 daughters. He committed incest.
Genesis 16 & 21:
26. You should listen to your wife but use discernment because she is not always right.
Genesis 22:
27. God will test your loyalty by asking you to do the most difficult thing
Genesis 26:
28. If you obey God He will prosper you even the midst of famine.
Let revelation supersede common sense. Revelation trumps common sense.
Genesis 35:
29. If you cheat your way through life even as a believer, God will straighten you up, even if He has to disable you for the rest of your life.
It is smarter to get correction now than to learn later when you have to pay a higher price for that lesson.
Genesis 37:
30. Favoritism sows jealousy and hatred in the family and organization
31. Gift without character or maturity is dangerous. It usually lands that person into trouble.
Genesis 39-40:
32. God will use adversities to mature us and form our character. Adversities don’t mean that God is angry with us.
Genesis 41:
33. Promotion comes from the Lord. It happens when you have character and maturity to match your gifting.
Genesis 43-50:
34. Learning to forgive is one of the most important lessons you will ever learn in life.
These are just some principles I have gone over very quickly with you. I apologize if they are too abbreviated. Having gone through this lesson should help you realize that God’s Word is filled with God’s principles. Their diligent application in your life will align you to His purpose for you and cause you to walk in His favor and blessings.
I shall see you in the next episode. God bless you.
